§ SAALCK Directors' Council Meeting
MINUTES: SAALCK Meeting
February 24, 1977
The State Assisted Academic Library Council of Kentucky met at Kentucky State on Thursday, February 24 at ten o'clock am. A motion was made by John Demos to form a subcommittee to draft a grant proposal to try to secure Federal funding through title IIB. Copies of the proposal will be sent by TWX to the other SAALCK members. The motion was seconded by Bobby E. Holloway; it carried unanimously. The subcommittee is composed of Paul Willis, Jack Ellis and Ernie Weyhrauch.
Earl Wassom handed out material concerning a COM Union Catalog Project for Kentucky. There was a brief discussion concerning the proposal, but since none of the members had seen it before the meeting, it was decided that a more meaningful discussion could be held at the next meeting.
The next meeting of SAALCK will be at the University of Louisville on April 22. The chairmen from the subcommittees will be invited.
John Demos suggested that the new executive director of the Council on Public Higher Education, Harry Snyder, be welcomed by the chairman of SAALCK, partly to inform him of our existence. However, no official action was taken on the suggestion. There were no negative reactions; so presumably the suggestion may be followed by the chairman.
After an adjournment for a luncheon with the state librarian and her assistant, the meeting reconvened at Kentucky State. It was moved by Earl Wassom that Barbara Williams and Dan Kreutzer be invited to the April 22 afternoon meeting. The motion carried unanimously.
A motion for adjournment was made by Jack Ellis. The meeting adjourned at three o'clock pm.
